With Linux and ZFS, QuTS hero supports advanced data reduction technologies for further driving down costs and increasing reliablility of SSD (all-flash) storage. QuTS hero is the operating system for high-end and enterprise QNAP NAS models. Current users: Go to the Sync Task page, click Create, and connect to your Synology NAS. Do either of the following: First-time users: Click Start Now, connect to your Synology NAS, and follow the wizard to create a Sync Task. WIth Linux and ext4, QTS enables reliable storage for everyone with versatile value-added features and apps, such as snapshots, Plex media servers, and easy access of your personal cloud. Let the Synology Drive app handle all your files. Double click Synology Drive Client on your computer desktop or the system tray to open the setup window. Synology recommends Continuous backup to avoid data loss. Click Backup Rules to configure settings. Select your backup Source (External drive) and destination folder. The Hyper Backup application package installed on your Synology NAS (installed by default download again via the package manager if necessary). Connect to your Synology NAS and click Next. On the Backup Destination page, select Local folder & USB and click Next. Click the + icon on the bottom left corner, and select Data backup task. An external hard drive or hard drive array with sufficient storage space for the data you wish to back up. Sign in to DSM and download the Hyper Backup package from the Package center if you haven’t already. QTS is the operating system for entry- and mid-level QNAP NAS. A Synology NAS with a data port and its Disk Station Manager software up to date.
